Episode One: Stemming the Tide
New Orleans
In the heart of New Orleans, Sergeant Bruce Little and his young but dedicated narcotics team work relentlessly to stem the tide of the drug trade. Trained as a member of the A-team Special Forces in the Green Berets, Bruce knows extreme situations, and thrives on the thrill. “Drugs are tearing this city apart”, he says, “and I’m going to continue targeting them until the last day of my career”. Detective Skip Daughtry works the other side of the dope world – the burglary beat. “Everything’s tied into narcotics – burglaries, robberies, everything”, explains Skip. As Bruce and his team energetically target street level dealers to “work up the chain” to a big time dealer, Skip determinedly tracks down leads to a young crack addict, and steers him into a rehab program.
Episode Two: Daywatch
San Francisco
For the men and women of the San Francisco Police Department’s Narcotics Division, the streets of San Francisco make for a tough battleground in the country’s war on drugs. A native of the city’s Mission District, Officer Dean “Dino” Marcic, holds drugs and gangs responsible for his old neighborhood’s decline. Whether he’s tackling a suspected drug dealer during a high-energy raid or interrogating an addicted heroin “hype”, Dino’s passion for the work is clear.
Episode Three: Gangland
Phoenix
There is a battle raging on the streets of Phoenix, for control of the life of the city. On one side are the gangs from the city’s poor neighborhoods; on the other, the detectives of Phoenix PD’s Gang Enforcement Unit. Derek Stephenson’s goal, with his partner, Steve Denney, is to rid Phoenix of one gang in particular. The QRT – Quick Response Team is another unit, whose mission is to provide the extra manpower and firepower beyond the scope of regular patrol officers. One team consists of two women, Lisa Frederiksen and Lisa Rauch — known to all as “the Lisas.” “Gangland” tracks all of these teams as they fight crime and features unprecedented access to the inner workings of a top-secret attack on one of Phoenix’s most dangerous street gangs.
